Tennessee Cheesecake hits home, restaurants

Family-run business Tennessee Cheesecake offers 34 flavors of the chilled dessert to both restaurants and customers at home.
How did your company get started? My mother, Valerie, started the company in 1981. She was always bringing desserts to family events and gatherings. She just thought, "This is something I can turn into a business." She worked on a recipe for three or four months and started selling door to door to local restaurants and had a lot of success that grew from there. She remodeled the basement into a commercial kitchen, and the bakery was there for 15 years. She moved to West Nashville in 2004 and to Mt. Juliet in 2010.
